Reuse elements with the library

Save a useful element once and insert it into other courses.

Before you start, link to this section

  • Open a course containing an element you want to reuse.
  • The reusable library belongs to the app on this computer; it is separate from the public website community library.

Step by step, link to this section

  1. On the element, choose Save to library and enter a name that describes its purpose.
  2. If a large-image warning appears, decide whether that media belongs in your reusable item.
  3. Open the destination chapter and choose From library, or Insert from library… in the element picker.
  4. Select the saved item and choose Insert.
  5. Edit the inserted copy to suit the destination course and preview its content and media.

What to expect, link to this section

The inserted element is an independent copy. Its assets are copied into the destination project, so later edits to the copy do not update every course that uses it.

Tips & troubleshooting, link to this section

  • Use names such as Safety introduction or Reflection prompt so items are easy to identify.
  • Removing a library entry removes the reusable item; it does not delete copies already inserted into courses.
  • When moving to another computer, do not assume the app-level library is included with one .agavien project.
