Vendor review

For IT, Legal, and Procurement

Ready for your team’s review.

Each Plus licence is a one-time purchase for one person. Individuals and organisations can buy several licences in one checkout, with a separate key for each person. Your licence key can be used on two computers at the same time. To switch computers, register an account at agavien.com using the same email address you used for your purchase, then deactivate an old computer in your account to free up a slot. Local course creation works offline. Plus needs internet for activation. After activation, Plus works offline without a time limit.

Accounts and community files are stored with Supabase in the EU. Cloudflare serves the website and installer downloads and processes requests globally. Scaleway delivers emails. Stripe processes payments. Licence checks process your licence reference, installation ID, computer name and last check time; course content is not sent for licence checks. Optional hosted sharing uploads your exported HTML course to private Cloudflare R2 storage. Anyone with its link can open it. We process account and installation identifiers, course title, size and usage counters to provide sharing and enforce allowances. Deleting a hosted course disables its link immediately; physical cleanup follows. Keep a local backup.

The desktop editor runs on the installed computer and does not automatically upload your courses. The optional community library is different: it uses hosted accounts and stores courses that users choose to submit for review and sharing. Review the website and library separately from the local editor.

Desktop course files, including any personal information they contain, stay on your computer unless you choose to upload or share them through an online service. Stripe processes payments and holds payment details; Agavien does not store your card details. Agavien also stores your purchase email address, licence information and order references to deliver and manage your licence. Website accounts and optional community uploads involve server storage of the information you provide.

Data processing agreement

Desktop course files remain on the user’s machine unless they choose to upload them to the community library. Submitted files and covers are hosted and reviewed, so assess this optional feature separately.

Data residency

Local editor files have no Agavien hosting region. Community accounts and uploaded courses are hosted; contact us for details of the hosting and any international transfers.

Vendor security review

The local editor does not need our hosting to store its course files. The optional library does use online infrastructure for accounts, uploads, moderation and downloads and should be included in a review.

Third-party calls, in full

Local by default, connected when you choose. Here are the online services to include in your review:

AI narration: off by default.

If a user turns it on, it sends the text they select to whichever AI provider they've chosen (OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Gemini, or Azure), using their own account and their own API key. That's a direct relationship between your user and that provider, not one that runs through us.

Stock photo search: optional.

An optional search against a stock image library, used only if someone searches for a photo inside the app.

Licensing and software updates

Plus activation and periodic license checks contact Agavien without sending course content. Packaged apps can also check for software updates. Optional Google Classroom publishing needs a configured build and teacher authorization.
