## Before you start

- Create and review the source-language content first.

- Translations use stable field identifiers. Changing source wording can mark an existing translation as needing review.

## Step by step

1. Open Options → Translations and select the target language.

2. Edit the translated text beside each source field. Check the coverage and review indicators.

3. For an external translation workflow, choose Export XLIFF and send the .xlf file to your translator.

4. Import the returned XLIFF using the tool’s import control. Read the report for applied, stale, unmatched, or skipped entries.

5. Review translations affected by source changes. Mark reviewed wording only after checking it against the current source.

6. Choose Save translation to keep your changes. In Options → Course settings, set Course language to the translated language, then preview the translated wording and layout before exporting.

7. If using multilingual narration, translate each chapter’s narration script before generating its audio.

## What to expect

Translated fields are stored with the course while media and layouts remain shared. Translation coverage helps you find missing text; it is not automatic machine translation.

## Tips & troubleshooting

- Importing XLIFF does not remove the need to save and review the translation.

- An unmatched entry may belong to a different project or an element that was removed.

- Changing Course language does not translate prose automatically. Saved translations are applied in preview and export when available.
